'It was one bad night... I'm not panicking,' says Charlie Sheen as ex Denise Richards treats daughters to some puppy love

She had to deal with rather a lot of drama following her husband Charlie Sheen's New York meltdown a couple of weeks back.

But now, Denise Richards is very much getting back to normal.

The 39-year-old actress and model was clearly enjoying herself as she took her daughters Sam, six and Lola, five, to a dog adoption event in Los Angeles yesterday.

Dressed casually in a green T-shirt, black jeans and boots, Richards posed with several adorable dogs who needed re-homing.

And her daughters - from her four year marriage to the actor -looked pretty in colourful T-shirts and trousers as they petted the puppies.

Richards seemed to enjoy her day out, later tweeting:

'Great event for Best Friends animal Society @BFAS thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event. my girls loved it!!'

Richards found herself at the centre of a drama two weeks ago, accompanying Sheen to hospital after he trashed his New York hotel room.

Sheen was found naked and drunk in The Plaza Hotel with porn star Capri Anderson.
The actor today dismissed the incident today as 'one bad night.'


Back to normal: Richards is getting back to the swing of daily life with after the events involving her former husband Charlie Sheen two weeks ago


'If a guy has one bad night, everybody goes insane and panics,' the 45-year-old actor told Extra.

'I'm not panicking,' he said, adding: 'Everything's good.'
Richards and Sheen divorced in 2006.

Following their tumultuous split, the couple now have an amicable relationship, spending time with their daughters in New York prior to Sheen's meltdown.
