He's got one of the most recognisable smiles in the world.

But David Beckham looked anything but happy yesterday as he went shopping in Beverly Hills.

The footballer had a distinctly glum expression on his face as he visited the Ralph Lauren store alone, spending a good few hours inside before leaving with just one bag.

It's not clear whether he was shopping for himself or for wife Victoria, but whatever he bought it took him a long time to choose.

The 35-year-old was dressed head to toe in blue, from his woolly hat down to his trainers.

And he topped off his look with a pair of very trendy black-framed glasses.

David might have been feeling a bit down because the usually-beautiful weather in Los Angeles has been mostly cold and rainy for the last week or so.

Or maybe Victoria has put him to work again advertising her fashion line.
He recently helped her advertise a pair of sunglasses from her fashion line by modelling them for her.

Victoria then posted the photo of him wearing them on Twitter for all her fans to see.

In the close-up shot, David is lying down with his arms over his head, showing off his biceps with a cheeky smile.

And there's no doubt he's the perfect advertisement for the brand.


The sunglasses he wore were the Classic Aviator in the 'Sky' colourway - the same sample pair Victoria, 36, uploaded a picture of earlier this week.

She Tweeted: 'Just received new #victoriabeckham samples. Colours are beautiful!'
Mrs Beckham is on a major marketing push at the moment, urging her Twitter followers to sign up early to buy a pair from her new collection.

She wrote: 'Get on the waiting list at Harvey Nicks!New #victoriaBeckham glasses drop at the end of Nov!'
